Social Media Tip #1: Social media isn’t a strategy.

When using social media, it’s important to remember that you’re defined by the relationship you create (not by your advertising campaign).  Your employer brand isn’t about what YOU say, it’s about what others say about you (based on their experience with your company).   The best way to reach consumers (students and experienced hires) via social media is to provide them with smart, generous, relevant ways to interact with your company. Too often companies view social media as a strategy.  Social media, like any other media outlet (newspaper, TV, magazines) is a tool that you utilize to support your strategy.
